Execute those who disobey.

Occasionally, I re-read books just to brush up on some classics. The latest I have read is The Art Of War by Sun Tzu. Everytime I pick it up, I find something different. If you haven’t read it, do a google search for it. It is worth an afternoon.

This is an excerpt from the introduction, and applies not only to war, but also to management principles…

“Failure to give clear orders and instructions is the commander’s fault. But after the commander has clearly given instructions and yet orders failed to be followed. The troops and leaders are to be blamed,

Execute those who disobey.”

So if your staff is running wild in your practice, are you not conveying instructions to them clearly, or is it time for one of them to be fired.
